The Wing Building
This low cost, mixed use building made of common materials occupies a site barely 50 feet wide x 300 feet long. This challenging site and the resulting shape of the building inspired the "wing" metaphor. Hugging railroad tracks and a bike path, the building suggests transportation and movement and the tough working environment of the local historic waterfront. The Wing Building received a Vermont AIA award (see Architectural Awards) as one of the best-designed buildings of the last 50 years in Vermont.
