Tahiti Orange refers to a task I set for myself on a trip to the South Pacific in 2005. I decided to limit what I shot to objects that were orange. This, I thought, would save me from being compelled to shoot the same old drop-dead gorgeous landscapes. The resulting prints were then cut up arbitrarily into small 2” x 2” fragments and reassembled into simple primal or archetypal shapes whose intent is to communicate “orangeness.”
