Stardust 2025
A three person show and installation,
Mad River Valley Arts, Waitsfield VT, August 21 – October 31 2025
Wall drawings and 22” x 22” works on paper including acrylic, colored pencil, graphite
Stardust was inspired by the scientific and poetic statement, “we are all stardust.” The installation explores three scales of our physical world: the cosmic, the human and the quantum. It examines how these three worlds depend upon and emerge from each other. The three major components of the installation include the “Big Breath”, twelve imaginary drawings or maps or even better, “charts” describing a giant wave form, the expansion and contraction of the cosmos from Big Bang to Big Bang, possibly repeating forever. The charts are installed in a circular format suggesting the wave’s evolution. Sam Talbot-Kelly, the gallery director/curator and sculptor created “You” a humanoid figure perhaps moving through space and time and bridging the cosmic and the quantum scales. Julie Parker, scientist and photographer, created “Quantum Revelations”, a video installation showing how quantum particles interact and combine over time to create the physical world we see around us.
